Hamilton 1800系列气体与液体进样针都是气密性和液密性的，其设计与800系列一样，作为800/1700进一步发展的产物，他们有如下的优点：单个部件可换（玻璃针管，柱塞，可重复使用的手柄）和操作简便性（可调节柱塞和推/拉止挡）。进样针的容量从10μL到250μL，进样针的精度是标称容量的±1%。
典型的应用有：
1．高性能液相色谱（HPLC）阀的样品进样。
2．气相色谱（GC）方面的人工样品进样。
3．深、窄容器的样品采集。
